About ACWWS
Assam Child and Women’s Welfare Society (ACWWS) was formerly known as the Indian Council for Child Welfare/ Assam State Branch (ICCW/ASB). The organization was renamed to ACWWS in 2023, as its activities were carried out independently, without direction or supervision from any other body or organization, including ICCW, New Delhi.
The need for a non-governmental organization working for the welfare of children and women, especially for the weaker sections of society, was recognized soon after India’s independence.
