For over four decades, we have stood by children in distress, women in need, and vulnerable communities, offering care, education, and opportunities to thrive. From adoption services to skill development and community shelters, our initiatives create a lasting impact.
Programs

SHISHU GREH
Shishu Greh was started by ICCW/ASB in the year 2004 under the recommendation of Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Assam and was recognized by Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) under the M/O WCD, Govt. of India.

KALYANI NIWAS
Kalyani Niwas is a children’s home for girls, established in 2007 to support needy and destitute girls aged 6 to 18 years. The project was initially implemented with financial support from the Tata Durabji Trust, Mumbai.

ASHANEER
ACWWS started “ASHANEER”, a home for special-needs girl children aged 6–18 years in 2022. The home is located at Sewa Mandir Path, Rupnagar, Guwahati-32. It is recognized by the State Child Protection Society, Assam, under the Integrated Child Protection Services.
Activities

EDUCATION
Children are the world’s most valuable resources and the best hope for the future. In Child Care Institutions (CCIs) (Kalyani Niwas, Shishu Greh, Open Shelter for Boys, Ashaneer) of ACWWS,we not only provide shelter to children for care and protection but also provide education based on their age, capabilities and interest, children are prepared for formal schooling. Children are sent to lower primary and higher secondary school as per their age group and level of education.
AWARENESS & NETWORKING
Shishu Greh organizes meeting and build network with stakeholders at community level, Hospitals, Police etc to create awareness on role and responsibilities of Shishu Greh towards the orphan, abandoned or surrendered children and on legal process of adoption as the rules laid down in Adoption Regulation 2022 and Juvenile Justice(Care and protection of Children) Act,2015.Awareness and networking is also done by Childline Programme on role of childline towards children in need of care and protection.


PLACEMENT & INTERNSHIP
Students from various universities and colleges are placed as interns across all projects of ACWWS. Volunteer services are also available for students and interested citizens. Volunteers are awarded certificates upon the completion of their activities as recognition of their contributions.
Through these opportunities, ACWWS fosters community engagement and encourages active participation in social welfare initiatives, creating a positive impact on both the volunteers and the beneficiaries.
